How many accounts you can connect on the free plan
Guide contents
1. Account vs bank connection
A connection is the authorised link with one bank. An account is each individual product that link brings in: your current account, your savings account, your card. One connection to a bank where you hold three products creates one connection and three accounts.
Accounts you add manually — cash, a bank you prefer not to connect, an old deposit — count towards the account quota but use no connection at all.
2. What you can realistically build for free
The free plan is designed so that a normal setup fits: your everyday bank connected automatically, a second bank, and the rest added manually if you need it. Enough to see a real total, not a demo.
It also caps categories and stored transactions. In practice that is a horizon of history rather than a wall: you keep working normally, and the limit shows up when you want years of data instead of months.
3. How to make the quota go further
If you have more banks than connections available, spend the automatic connections on the accounts that move: salary, everyday card, the account your bills leave from. Those are the ones where manual updating actually hurts.
Accounts that barely change — a deposit, a savings pot you touch twice a year — work perfectly well as manual accounts. Same total, no connection burned.
- Automatic connections for accounts with frequent movements.
- Manual accounts for static balances you only update occasionally.
- Close accounts you no longer use instead of letting them eat your quota.
4. The exact numbers, always live
We are not writing the exact quotas here on purpose: they are part of the plan configuration and can change. Any number copied into an article is a number that will eventually be wrong.
finboard.me/plans shows the current quota and price for each plan, read live from our system. Treat that page as the only source of truth — including when what you read anywhere else says otherwise.
