What FinBoard actually does

Recurring rules that reconcile themselves

Set up your salary, rent or subscriptions once.

FinBoard generates them every month and matches them against your real bank import — automatically.

Zero-based budgets that roll over

What you don't spend this month isn't gone — it's next month's.

Category by category, unused budget carries forward automatically. No resetting to zero on the 1st.

One net worth, every currency

Euro checking account, dollar broker, on-chain crypto — all visible side by side, in their own currency.

Pick the currency you want your net worth converted to; every account underneath still shows in the currency it's actually held in.

Returns FIFO, not guesswork

Cost basis calculated lot by lot, in purchase order — the way tax authorities actually expect it.

Total return includes dividends, with withholding tax already deducted.

Crypto next to your bank account

Wallets across multiple blockchains, sitting in the same table as your stocks and your checking account.

No spreadsheet stitching it together for you.

Read-only, by construction

Your bank credentials are entered on your bank's own site — never on FinBoard's.

Data hosted in the EU, isolated per account with row-level security, never sold.

Frequently asked questions

What is FinBoard?

FinBoard is a web-based personal finance dashboard. It brings bank accounts, transactions, budgets and a multi-currency investment portfolio (including crypto) into a single view, so you can see net worth, spending and portfolio performance in one place instead of across several apps and spreadsheets.

Is FinBoard free?

Yes. The Free plan costs €0/month (free forever) and needs no credit card. It includes 5 accounts, 1,000 stored transactions, 20 categories and 1 Open Banking connections, plus CSV transaction import and a monthly email report.

How much does FinBoard cost?

Free €0/month (free forever); Basic €4.99/month; Basic Annual €49.90/month; Pro €14.99/month; Pro Annual €149.90/month; Enterprise custom pricing. Prices are per user, billed monthly.

Can FinBoard connect to my bank?

Yes, through Open Banking using GoCardless Bank Account Data, which covers banks across Europe. You authenticate on your own bank's website — FinBoard never sees or stores your banking credentials, and the connection is read-only: it can read balances and transactions but cannot move money. Transaction sync is available from the Basic plan and is refreshed on demand; on the Free plan you bring data in through CSV import.

Does FinBoard track crypto?

Yes. You can track cryptocurrency wallets and exchange holdings (including Kraken imports) alongside stocks and funds in the same portfolio, valued in your base currency. Crypto wallets are available from the Basic plan.

Does FinBoard handle multiple currencies?

Yes. Accounts and holdings can be held in different currencies and are converted with live FX rates into a single base currency, so net worth and portfolio value stay comparable. Multi-currency is available from the Basic plan.

Can I import my existing data?

Yes. Every plan can import transactions from CSV. Paid plans additionally import accounts, categories, payees, trades and Actual Budget exports, so you can migrate an existing setup rather than starting from zero.

How does FinBoard calculate investment gains?

Open positions and unrealised profit and loss use the FIFO (first in, first out) cost-basis method, and dividends are tracked per holding with a dividend calendar. Both are available from the Basic plan.

Is my financial data private and secure?

Data is stored in Postgres on Supabase in the EU (eu-central-1) and isolated per user with row-level security, so one account can never read another account's rows. Bank connections use Open Banking read-only consent: credentials are entered on the bank's own site and never reach FinBoard. FinBoard does not sell user data.

What languages does FinBoard support?

The interface, blog and resource centre are available in English and Spanish.

Is there a FinBoard mobile app?

FinBoard runs in the browser and is responsive on phones and tablets. There is no separate native app to install today.

How is FinBoard different from a spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet needs manual entry and breaks as it grows; FinBoard imports transactions automatically over Open Banking, categorises them, tracks budgets against them and revalues a multi-currency portfolio without formulas to maintain. The trade-off is less free-form flexibility than a blank sheet.

Who is FinBoard for?

Individuals and households who hold several bank accounts, invest across currencies or asset classes (including crypto), and want one dashboard for both day-to-day budgeting and portfolio tracking.

What can FinBoard not do?

FinBoard does not move money: it cannot make payments or transfers, it is not a bank, a broker or an exchange, and it gives no investment, tax or financial advice. It does not file taxes and it has no native mobile app. Team collaboration is limited to the Enterprise plan, and Pro unlocks unlimited accounts, transactions and connections.
